Sharks, A Possessed Doll and More: Horror Films Coming To Netflix and DVD This May

Trying to find just the right movie to watch at night, alone, with the lights off can be a daunting task, and sifting through endless titles on Netflix is enough to put you out of the mood. We are here to give you a list of horror movies coming to Netflix and DVD to help make that choice just a little bit easier. No matter what your taste, May is looking like a promising month for the horror genre.


They Look Like People: A man suspects that all of the people around him are becoming evil creatures. Starring MacLeod Andrews (Found In Time), Evan Dumouchel (40 Days and Nights) and Margaret Ying Drake (The Last Tape). Coming May 11th.

Shark Lake: A bull shark is accidentally set loose in Lake Tahoe. Starring Dolph Lundgren (Rocky IV), Sara Malakul (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse) and James Chalke (Direct Contact). Now Streaming.

The Ouija Experiment 2: Theatre of Death: A group of people get trapped in a theatre after a ravenous spirit is released from an Ouija board. Starring Shannon Snedden (Body Harvest), Jessica Willis (Lake Fear) and Justin Armstrong (Inhumane). Coming May 22nd.

Ava’s Possessions: After being possessed by the Devil, Ava joins a support group filled with others that have been possessed. Starring Carol Kane (The Princess Bride), Jemima Kirke (Tiny Furniture) and William Sadler (The Shawshank Redemption). Now streaming.

Goosebumps: Zach moves to a small town and meets a Hannah. Hannah has a mysterious father who turns out to be R.L. Stine. Starring Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda), Dylan Minnette (Let Me In) and Odeya Rush (We Are What We Are). Coming May 11th.

We Are Still Here: A Home in New England wakes up every 30 years and requires a sacrifice. Starring Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator), Andrew Sensenig (The Last Exorcism Part II) and Lisa Marie (Mars Attacks!). Coming May 15th.



Tuesday, May 3rd

The 5th Wave: Four waves of alien attacks have left Earth almost decimated. Cassie must face the coming 5th wave to save her younger brother. Starring Chloe Grace Moretz (Carrie), Matthew Zuk (Todd and Anne) and Nick Robinson (Jurassic World).

Emelie: A couple’s replacement babysitter gives them more than they bargained for when she subjects their children to a series of twisted events. Starring Chris Beetem (Black Hawk Down) and Sarah Bolger (The Lazarus Effect).


Tuesday, May 10th

The Boy: A nanny agrees to watch after a couple’s son only to find out that he is actually a life-sized doll. When she disobeys his rules, he makes her pay. Starring Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead), Rupert Evans (Hellboy) and James Russell (Deception).

Manson’s Lost Girls: Linda Kasabian falls prey to the charms of Charles Manson and his “family”. Starring Mackenzie Mauzy (Into The Woods), Jeff Ward (Vamperifica) and Chad Lindberg (I Spit On Your Grave).


Tuesday, May 17th

The Witch: A family in 1630’s New England is torn apart by witchcraft, black magic and possession. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy (Atlantis), Ralph Ineson (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Kate Dickie (Prometheus).

Southbound: Five tales of terror that follows a group of travelers who confront their worst fears and darkest secrets over one long night on a stretch of desert highway. Starring Chad Villella (Prison Break), Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (V/H/S) and Kristina Pesic (Scott Pilgrim vs the World).

The Mirror: Three roommates purchase a supposedly haunted mirror from eBay and set up cameras to capture its activity. Starring Jemma Dallender (I Spit On Your Grave), Joshua Dickinson (Opening Night of the Living Dead) and Nate Fallows (The C Word).

Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre: A fracking accident releases prehistoric sharks from underground. The sharks stalk and trap a group of women in a cabin. Starring Dominique Swain (Face/Off) and Traci Lords (Devil May Call).


Tuesday, May 24th

The Channel: After surviving a near-death experience, a girl discovers that she has become a channel for an evil spirit. Starring Kristen StephensonPino (Building 34), Nick Clark (The Ninth Lane) and Andrew Olson (The Crying Dead).

The Haunting of Alice D: In the 1890’s Davenport House was a famous brothel until a young prostitute named Alice killed herself there. A century later, the house is turned into a mansion and Alice isn’t happy. Starring Kane Hodder (Hatchet), Juan Riedinger (Jennifer’s Body) and Al Snow (Hell House).

Tuesday, May 31st

Pride & Prejudice & Zombies: Five sisters in 19th Century England must cope with the pressures to marry while protecting themselves from zombies. Starring Lily James (Cinderella), Sam Riley (Maleficent) and Jack Huston (American Hustle).

Unhallowed Ground: A group of privileged students spend the night patrolling Dhoultham School. Thier night turns into a nightmare as they face off against burglars, supernatural spirits and a much darker evil. Starring Ameet Chana (Bend It Like Beckham), Poppy Drayton (The Shannara Chronicles) and Marcus Griffiths (Much Ado About Nothing).
