Hauntings, Vampires & Family Fun: Horror Coming to DVD & Netflix October 2018

October has finally arrived which means Netflix finally has an impressive list of titles to offer its horror loving subscribers; Blu-ray/DVD releases are not too shabby either. In true Halloween fashion, most of the titles include hauntings, vampires, gore and even a little family fun for the aspiring horror fans. Here are the horror movies coming to Netflix and Blu-ray/DVD this October.

Netflix

October 1st

BladeA half-vampire, half-mortal man becomes a protector of the mortal race, while slaying evil vampires.

Blade II: Blade forms an uneasy alliance with the vampire council in order to combat the Reapers, who are feeding on vampires.

Mystic River: The lives of three men who were childhood friends are shattered when one of them has a family tragedy.

The Devil's Advocate: An exceptionally adept Florida lawyer is offered a job to work in New York City for a high-end law firm with a high-end boss - the biggest opportunity of his career to date.

The ShiningA family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.

October 3rd

Truth or DareSix college kids find internet stardom when they make "Truth or Dare" videos with a violent twist. It is all fun and games until their number one fan decides he wants to play by his own rules.

 October 4th

The Haunting of Molly HartleyA girl with PTSD attempts to refresh her life at a new school, but soon finds it impossible when she's afflicted by not only bullying and bad memories, but also the supernatural.

October 5th

MalevolentIn order to save her siblings, a young woman takes on her father and the powerful entity known as Gamemaster, who ensnares humans into diabolical plots while her species gambles on the outcome.

Super Monsters: Season 2: Preschool kids whose parents are the world's most famous monsters try to master their special powers while preparing for kindergarten.

October 12th

The Haunting of Hill HouseBased on the novel The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson.

October 19th

Making a Murderer: Part 2filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos return to the Midwest where they have exclusive access to Steven Avery and his co-defendant and nephew Brendan Dassey, their families and the legal teams fighting for justice on their behalf.


October 26th

Castlevania: Season 2A vampire hunter fights to save a besieged city from an army of otherworldly creatures controlled by Dracula. 

Chilling Adventures of SabrinaAs her 16th birthday nears, Sabrina must choose between the witch world of her family and the human world of her friends. Based on the Archie comic.

October 2nd

The First PurgeAmerica's third political party, the New Founding Fathers of America, comes to power and conducts an experiment: no laws for 12 hours on Staten Island. No one has to stay on the island, but $5,000 is given to anyone who does.

Monster Family: Despite the title, the Wishbone family are far from happy. In an attempt to reconnect as a family, Mum and Emma plan a fun night out. However, her plan backfires when an evil witch curses them, and they're all turned into Monsters.

The Originals: Season 5: A family of power-hungry thousand year old vampires look to take back the city that they built and dominate all those who have done them wrong.

October 9th

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer VacationCount Dracula and company participate in a cruise for sea-loving monsters, unaware that their boat is being commandeered by the monster-hating Van Helsing family.

Hotel Artemis: Set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, 'Hotel Artemis' follows the Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only emergency room for criminals.

The Witch Files: A group of marginalized young women form a powerful coven.

October 16th

Unfriended: Dark WebA teen comes into possession of a new laptop and soon discovers that the previous owner is not only watching him, but will also do anything to get it back.

Cold Skin: In 1914, a young man arrives at a remote island near the Antarctic Circle to take the post of weather observer only to find himself trapped in a watchtower besieged by deadly creatures which live in hiding on the island.

Down a Dark Hall: A troubled teen named Kit Gordy is forced to join the exclusive Blackwood Boarding School, just to find herself trapped by dark forces around its mysterious headmistress, Madame Duret.

He's Out There: On vacation at a remote lake house, a mother and her two young daughters must fight for survival after falling into a terrifying and bizarre nightmare conceived by a psychopath.

 October 23rd

Patient ZeroAfter an unprecedented global pandemic turns the majority of humankind into violent "Infected," a man gifted with the ability to speak the Infected's new language leads the last survivors on a hunt for Patient Zero and a cure.

October 30th

Slender ManIn a small town in Massachusetts, a group of friends, fascinated by the internet lore of the Slender Man, attempt to prove that he doesn't actually exist - until one of them mysteriously goes missing.

The Darkest Minds: Imprisoned by an adult world that now fears everyone under 18, a group of teens form a resistance group to fight back and reclaim control of their future.

Mandy: Mandy is set in the primal wilderness of 1983 where Red Miller, a broken and haunted man, hunts an unhinged religious sect who slaughtered the love of his life.

Our House: A young genius accidentally invents a device that amplifies the paranormal activity within his family's house, possibly bringing back the spirits of loved ones, and unleashing things far worse.
