Michael is Coming Home: Horror Movies Coming to Netflix & DVD January 2019

New year, new horror releases. Netflix has a long list of original series coming up in the first month of 2019, and one of them is a documentary about one of America's most notorious serial killers, Ted Bundy. The biggest Blu-ray release may have to be the return of horror's favorite brother-sister duo, Michael and Laurie. Here are the horror releases coming your way in January. 


January 1st

GodzillaThe world is beset by the appearance of monstrous creatures, but one of them may be the only one who can save humanity.

I Know What You Did Last Summer: Four young friends bound by a tragic accident are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac in their small seaside town.

Pans Labyrinth: In the falangist Spain of 1944, the bookish young stepdaughter of a sadistic army officer escapes into an eerie but captivating fantasy world.

The Addams Family: Con artists plan to fleece an eccentric family using an accomplice who claims to be their long-lost uncle.

The Mummy: At an archaeological dig in the ancient city of Hamunaptra, an American serving in the French Foreign Legion accidentally awakens a mummy who begins to wreck havoc as he searches for the reincarnation of his long-lost love.

The Mummy Returns: The mummified body of Imhotep is shipped to a museum in London, where he once again wakes and begins his campaign of rage and terror.

The Strangers: A young couple staying in an isolated vacation home are terrorized by three unknown assailants.

January 9th

Godzilla The Planet EaterHumanity, their alien allies, and Godzilla all enter their endgame as the powerful destructive entity known as Ghidorah arrives on Earth.

January 24th

Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy TapesA look inside the mind of serial killer Ted Bundy featuring interviews with him on death row.

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation: Count Dracula and company participate in a cruise for sea-loving monsters, unaware that their boat is being commandeered by the monster-hating Van Helsing family.

January 27th

Z Nation (Season 5)Three years after the zombie virus has gutted the United States of America a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood.


January 1st

AstralA detached university student faces the consequences of astral projection when he uses it to reconnect with his dead mother.

January 8th

Hell FestA masked serial killer turns a horror-themed amusement park into his own personal playground, terrorizing a group of friends while the rest of the patrons believe that it is all part of the show.

Castle Rock (Complete First Season): Based on the stories of Stephen King, the series will intertwine characters and themes from the fictional town of Castle Rock.

The Purge (Season One): Set in an altered United States, several unrelated people discover how far they will go to survive a night where all crime is legal for 12 hours.

January 15th

HalloweenLaurie Strode confronts her long-time foe Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween:Two young friends find a magic book that brings a ventriloquist's dummy to life. 

January 29th

SuspiriaA darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the artistic director, an ambitious young dancer, and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare. Others will finally wake up.

Slice: When a pizza delivery driver is murdered on the job, the city searches for someone to blame: ghosts? drug dealers? a disgraced werewolf?

Be sure to check Netflix periodically for surprise additions, they have made a habit of sneaking titles in that were not previously announced. Come back at the end of January for February's releases!
