Sharks, Nicholas Cage & Bloody Romances: Horror Coming to Netflix, Shudder & DVD

Streaming services have seemed to have surpassed the DVD/Blu-ray format; Netflix is not showing genre fans much love this February, so in addition to the normal Netflix and DVD releases, this month additions to the horror only streaming service, Shudder, will be included. If you are not familiar with Shudder, it is a streaming service much like Netflix and hulu, but it offers strictly horror films and shows.  February 1st Final Destination: After a teenager has a terrifying vision of him and his friends dying in a plane crash, he prevents the accident only to have Death hunt them down, one...

Tourist Trap was the first film from Schmoeller, who was raised and educated in Texas, and it was heavily inspired by one of the most iconic and influential horror films ever made to come out of that great state....

Coming Soon to Terror Threads...The Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

On October 1st, Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) will be celebrating its 43rd anniversary. Decades after this tiny slasher film —falsely marketed as “based on a true story” — shocked and terrified audiences, it remains one of the most influential films in modern horror history. Upon its release, TCM was a huge blockbuster success, crushing the record as the highest-grossing indie horror film ever. That record would be beat four years later by another of the genre’s most influential films, John Carpenter’s Halloween, whose Michael Myers was undoubtedly inspired by Leatherface.  The DIY, low-budget horror film (unheard of...
