Vampires, Aliens & Sharks: Horror Coming to Netflix & DVD November 2018

Sadly October is over, so that means the new horror additions will be getting fewer and fewer until next Halloween season. Netflix saw great success with their new addition Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, so perhaps they will continue to cash in while making genre fans happy. Their additions for November actually outweigh the titles coming to Blu-ray/DVD with some cult titles that should make everyone happy. Netflix November 1st Bram Stoker's Dracula: The centuries old vampire Count Dracula comes to England to seduce his barrister Jonathan Harker's fiancée Mina Murray and inflict havoc in the foreign land. Cape Fear: A convicted rapist,...

Romero, Argento, Carpenter & More: Horror Coming to Netflix & DVD March 2018

New month, new additions; March is all about the classics. Netflix has a fair amount of titles coming (a few non-horror that have been adored by horror fans), and shockingly enough, not one of them is a Leprechaun film. If you're looking to add some of the cult classics of yesterday, a documentary and an Oscar winner to your Blu-ray collection, this is the month for you. March 1st Cruel Intentions: Two vicious step-siblings of an elite Manhattan prep school make a wager: to deflower the new headmaster's daughter before the start of term. Cruel Intentions 2: This takes place several years...

Sharks, Dark Comedy & Tom Cruise: Horror Coming to Netflix & DVD September 2017

A new month means new releases; in the case of September, it's less new and more "revisited". It will be classics galore on both Netflix and DVD; Netflix does however have a new original movie, a horror comedy starring Adam Scott (Step Brothers) coming, but most of the releases they have for September are recycled from previous months. September 1st Deep Blue Sea: Searching for a cure to Alzheimer's disease, a group of scientists on an isolated research facility become the bait, as a trio of intelligent sharks fight back. Jaws: A giant great white shark arrives on the shores of a...

Classics, Indie Horror & A Few New Titles: Horror Coming to Netflix & DVD May 2017

A new month means new releases; Netflix has been a little dry in the way of horror releases in the past couple of months, but they have stepped it up a bit more for May. DVD/Blu-ray releases are full of remastered classics, a few indie titles and two recently out of theater titles.  May 1st Drifter: A pair of outlaw brothers seek temporary refuge in a desolate town inhabited by a small family of psychotic cannibalistic lunatics. May 6th When the Bough Breaks: A surrogate mom for a couple becomes dangerously obsessed with the soon-to-be father. May 7th Stake Land II: When his...

5 Reasons Why the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a Horror Classic

The other day as I was trolling through Horror Amino, I stumbled upon an article that made my skin crawl.  The title read; ‘Overrated Horror Films’ and had an image of the classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre poster from the original film.  Intrigued and (really) bothered, I clicked on it.  And what I read was extremely upsetting to say the least.  Now, to preface this, everyone is entitled to their opinions and critiques.  However, the reason why this author had listed this film as being overrated was that it involved ‘the main girl screaming her head off’ and ‘it lacked appeal.’...
