Vampires, Demon Clowns & a Hotel Stay: Horror Coming to Netflix & DVD October 2016

It's time kids, that time of year that horror fans celebrate every second of their lives, Halloween. It is sad to say that Netflix has a very small list of horror titles to be added in October, but the DVD/Blu-ray list is quite impressive. October 2016 will bring us collector's editions, complete series and a nod to one of Horror's finest creators.


October 1st

The Queen of the DamnedThe vampire Lestat becomes a rock star whose music wakes up the queen of all vampires. 

The UninvitedAnna Ivers returns home to her sister Alex after a stint in a mental hospital, though her recovery is jeopardized thanks to her cruel stepmother. Her dismay quickly turns to horror when she is visited by ghastly visions of her dead mother.

October 4th

American Horror Story: Hotel: In this season of the FX hit series, check in for the most haunted, bloody hotel experience of your life.

October 6th

iZombie: Season 2: Sometimes to catch a criminal, you must eat their brains.

October 7th

Supernatural: Season 11: Dean no longer has the mark of Cain thanks to the Book of the Damned, but what was released may be much worse. 

The Originals: Season 3A family of power-hungry thousand year old vampires look to take back the city that they built and dominate all those who have done them wrong.

The Vampire Diaries: Season 7: A teenage girl is torn between two vampire brothers.

October 28th

I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the HouseA young nurse takes care of elderly author who lives in a haunted house.


October 4th

American Horror Story: HotelIn this season of the FX hit series, check in for the most haunted, bloody hotel experience of your life.

All Through the House: A deranged masked Santa-Slayer comes to town for some yuletide-terror. He leaves behind a bloody trail of mutilated bodies as he hunts his way to the front steps of the town's most feared and notorious home.

Daughter of Dracula: A young woman visits her gravely ill grandmother at the family estate. On her death bed, the old woman reveals to her granddaughter the family curse: they're all vampires.

Dexter: The Complete Series: Dexter Morgan is a Forensics Expert, a loyal brother, boyfriend, and friend. That's what he seems to be, but that's not what he really is. Dexter Morgan is a Serial Killer that hunts the bad.

IT: Blu-ray/DVD with Collectible T-Shirt: In 1960, seven outcast kids known as "The Loser Club" fight an evil demon who poses as a child-killing clown. Thirty years later, they reunite to stop the demon once and for all when it returns to their hometown.

The Mind's Eye: Zack Connors and Rachel Meadows were born with incredible psychokinetic capabilities. When word of their supernatural talents gets out, they find themselves the prisoners of Michael Slovak, a deranged doctor intent on harvesting their powers.

Penny Dreadful: The Final Season: Explorer Sir Malcolm Murray, American gunslinger Ethan Chandler, scientist Victor Frankenstein and medium Vanessa Ives unite to combat supernatural threats in Victorian London.

Preacher: Season One: After a supernatural event at his church, a preacher enlists the help of a vampire to find God.

The Purge: Election Year: Years after sparing the man who killed his son, former police sergeant Barnes has become head of security for Senator Charlie Roan, a Presidential candidate targeted for death on Purge night due to her vow to eliminate the Purge.

Sharknado: The 4th Awakens: Fin, his family and the cosmos have been blissfully sharknado-free in the five years since the most recent attack, but now sharks and tornadoes are being whipped up in unexpected ways and places.

The Shining: Blu-ray/DVD with Collectible T-Shirt: A family heads to an isolated hotel for the winter where an evil and spiritual presence influences the father into violence, while his psychic son sees horrific forebodings from the past and of the future.

They're Watching: The renovation of an old house in a village somewhere in Eastern Europe, will bring the crew of an American home improvement TV show, up against superstitions, misunderstandings and bloody violence. 

October 11th

Astro ZombiesThe Plan - to build a super human; How? - by murdering innocent convenient victims and using various bits of them; The Result - Creatures on the rampage. 

Carrie: The 40th AnniversaryCarrie White, a shy, friendless 17 year-old girl who is sheltered by her domineering, religious mother, unleashes her telekinetic powers after being humiliated by her classmates at her senior prom.

Hannibal: The Complete Series: Explores the early relationship between the renowned psychiatrist and his patient, a young FBI criminal profiler, who is haunted by his ability to empathize with serial killers.

The Hills Have Eyes: On the way to California, a family has the misfortune to have their car break down in an area closed to the public, and inhabited by violent savages ready to attack.

The Thing: Collector's Edition: It's the first week of winter in 1982. An American Research Base is greeted by an alien force, that can assimilate anything it touches. It's up to the members to stay alive, and be sure of who is human, and who has become one of the Things. 

Insane: Based on a terrifying series of events, A manifestation of evil that begins to engulf the life of a young couple who just moved into a mansion. Unable to deny the demonic presence any longer, things begin to change... And Not for the Better...

Tales of Poe: Based on the classic works of Edgar Allan Poe - a unique spin on three of Poe's popular stories (The Tell Tale Heart, Cask of Amontillado & Dreams). Directors Bart Mastronardi & Alan Rowe Kelly weave together a compelling and suspenseful anthology that will captivate Poe enthusiasts and horror fans alike.

The Twilight Zone: The Complete Series: Ordinary people find themselves in extraordinarily astounding situations, which they each try to solve in a remarkable manner.

October 18th

Bates Motel: Season 4Centers on a mother and son who come to a new town so that they can start over and set up a new business, but a lot of mysterious incidents happen, including the unanswered and horrible acts of the son.

Bride of Re-Animator: Doctors Herbert West and Dan Cain discover the secret to creating human life and proceed to create a perfect woman from dead tissue.

Child's Play: Collector's Edition: A single mother gives her son a much sought after doll for his birthday, only to discover that it is possessed by the soul of a serial killer.

October 25th

The Exorcist III: Collector's EditionA police lieutenant uncovers more than he bargained for as his investigation of a series of murders, which have all the hallmarks of the deceased 'Gemini' serial killer, lead him to question the patients of a psychiatric ward.
